Rick Wixo's Final Goodbye...

Last night, a number of Rick's good friends celebrated his final goodbye.

On Rick's Facebook page, his good friends posted a video of their boat ride, where they scattered Rick's in the Pacific Ocean.

In her final words, one of Rick's friends, before scattering his ashes into the Pacific, said "Rick, you are now free.".

When I saw Rick's Final Goodbye video, it reminded me of Sweetheart's scattering ceremony on the SF Bay. I too had to say goodbye to someone I loved.

So, as I said on Rick's Facebook, Rick is now free but Rick isn't forgotten in our hearts.

Rick..Rest in Peace/Paradise..until we meet again.

Sunset in the City...

It's Saturday afternoon and the sun is beginning to set down on the City.

This is Sweetheart's favorite time of day.

Sweetie loved how the sunset's rays would reflect of the downtown buildings. Our apartment faces east so that we have a great view of the City's downtown buildings.

The reflections of the sunset would sparkle and twinkle against the building windows.

This time of day when I look out the living room window it reminds of Sweetie.

Love you and miss you Sweetheart.

I love the sentiment.

Goodbye...Rick Wixo...

Tonight in Los Angeles, at the Theatre West in Hollywood, it's Rick's Closing Night.

Rick's friends are coming together to celebrate his wonderful life.

Just earlier, Rick's friends got together for memorial walk around Silver Lake Reservoir. Silver Lake was one of Rick's favorite places.

During the day, I thought of Rick and of tonight's celebration. I really wished I could have made it for the walk and event at Theatre West.

But, I know Rick knew that I was there in spirit to join his friends to celebrate his wonderful life.

Tonight, when I look up in the evening sky, the brightest star will be Rick's. Just like his wonderful smile, Rick will shine brightly.

Rick touched many people. Rick was much loved and will never be forgotten.

Take care my friend.

I know that someday we'll meet again.

Love you and miss you.

Regrets...

With Rick's memorial in 2 days, I'm regretting that I'm won't be able to attend the event in LA.

LA is so close. It's an hour flight from the Bay Area. One can even drive down to LA in half a day.

But, due to circumstances, I won't be able to attend my friend's memorial.

The regret is not keeping in touch with Rick when he left for LA to pursue his acting career. I saw Rick's work while he was local theatre in SF. Thank god for You Tube. I was able to see Rick's work. Love Rick Supercut ad. Then, there was the "Mash" ad for the NHL.

But, yesterday, a good friend of Rick posted a video on You Tube via his Facebook page.

It was great to see Rick at work. Acting was passion for him. In the beginning of the video, there was portion where Rick introduced himself. It was heartbreaking to learn about his parents. But, what brought me to tears was his piece in the Laramie Project. The pain in his eyes and the emotions he gave at the lost of Ryan was very powerful. But, what I really enjoyed was seeing Rick again and hearing his voice.

Thank you for the posting.

Keep smiling Rick.

Legacy...I was here...

With Rick's memorial coming up this weekend and next week and the 3rd anniversary of sweetheart's passing in January, the thought of one's legacy comes to mind.

The thoughts of what will I be remembered for when I'm no longer here.

Thus, the title of a Glee song last season: I was here.

I difficult right now to think of it.

But, as I heard recently, "Life is short and fragile".

One needs to live for every minute. Don't take anything or anyone for granted. Because you might have tomorrow.

I thought Sweetie would be with me always. I thought we'd grow old together.

I thought I'd see Rick on the big screen as movie actor.

But, now I have good memories of both.

Another tear...

Tonight's episode of Parenthood dealt with the news of Christina's cancer.

Christina broke the news to her family after a baseball game.

No actual words were said but the emotions from the news was evident on the family member's faces.

A tear was shed because I thought of my friend, Rick.

I knew from last year that Rick was being treated for some type of cancer. I can only imagine what Rick went through. From his blog entries - made by Rick and his close friends. I thought Rick had won his battle with cancer.

But, last month, on Sept 22, 2012, Rick lost has battle with cancer. From what I've read from his Facebook page, Rick was surrounded by his family and friends.

This weekend there will be memorial service in Rick's home town of Grand Forks ND.

Next Thursday, there will be a memorial service in Los Angeles held by his friends.

My sympathy to his family and friends.

You'll be missed Rick.

America's Cup...Fleet Week...

It's a busy week in the City.

It's Fleet Week. Ships and sailors are all around. Today, the Blue Angles took their fly by over the Bay Area for this weekend's show.

Also, the America's Cup races begin tomorrow. It's the second time for these sailing boats to be on the Bay.

Sweetie would have loved seeing America Cup.

Love you and miss you Sweetie.
